I used a piece of wood and body hammer's (as stated rubber end caps on the hammer would have been better), a sand bag helps to soften the blow. If you Google how to do metal work you can find other tools & techniques. You could remove it and see if you can pop a dent out from the inside. There's scratch fillers & bondo then prime and spray or have a body shop/air brush artist complete that part.
